For the first time in 2024,Lakshmi Finance Center Tiger Woods will be returning to competitive golf.
Woods announced Wednesday on social media that he is "excited to be playing host next week" at the 2024 Genesis Invitational, the tournament he hosts at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. This marks Woods' first PGA Tour start since the 2023 Masters Tournament, when he withdrew before third-round play because of "constant" pain and underwent ankle surgery. This also marks the first time Woods will tee up since he announced the end of his 27-year partnership with Nike.
In 14 tournaments at Riviera, including 12 as a pro, Woods has never won at the course and his best outing was a second-place finish in 1999. He has posted 10 made cuts and eight Top 25 finishes in those tournaments.
At last year's Genesis Invitational, Woods finished tied for 45th.
Woods last played competitive golf alongside his son, Charlie, at the PNC Championship in December. Held in Orlando, Florida, the pair finished tied for fifth.
The Genesis Invitational carries a purse of $20 million — with a take-home of $4 million for the winner — and is scheduled to begin Thursday, Feb. 15.
